Bastien Alard has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Bastien is currently the Managing Director at Virunga Chocolat Sarl since August 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Virunga National Park, where they served as the Head of Agriculture Department and later as the Rural Development Manager from April 2018.

Before joining the Virunga National Park, Bastien worked as a Finance Officer at Welthungerhilfe from September 2015 to April 2018. Bastien also had a brief role as the Head of Project Junior at KIYO from April 2015 to August 2015. Prior to that, they worked as an Ambassador at Amnesty International Belgique Francophone ASBL from January 2015 to April 2015.

Bastien Alard obtained a Bachelor's degree in Coopération Internationale from HEPN - Haute Ecole de la Province de Namur, where they studied from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their secondary education at Bonne-Espérance, where they acquired a général diploma. In addition, Bastien obtained a certification in Maîtrise de l'anglais sur Duolingo: Avancé (estimation) from Duolingo in November 2015.
