Deacon Cottrell, MBA, has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Deacon began their career as a Guest Services Agent at Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in 2002. Deacon then worked as an Assistant Front Desk Manager at Wynn Las Vegas from 2005 to 2007.

In 2010, Deacon joined Station Casinos, specifically Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa. After two years, they transitioned to the role of Admissions Counselor at Ashford University in 2012, where they recruited and enrolled students for online undergraduate degree programs. Later that year, they moved to Argosy University, Denver as an Admissions Counselor, responsible for recruiting and enrolling students for undergraduate degree programs.

In 2014, Deacon joined Deloitte as a Consultant, where they conducted cleanliness and condition assessments for hotels and evaluated client processes, procedures, and service standards. Deacon also worked as a Trainer for Walmart stores, facilitating cash recycler training for store management and associates, and as a Mercedes-Benz Advisory Auditor, ensuring proper processes were followed at dealerships.

In 2017, Deacon joined Stonebridge Companies as an Assistant General Manager and worked their way up to become a General Manager. In this role, they managed all aspects of the property, including expenses and performance. Deacon achieved significant year-over-year growth in occupancy, REVPAR, and GOP. Deacon also oversaw the transition of properties as part of the task force and handled various operational responsibilities, such as accounts receivable and payable, payroll, guest challenges, employee coaching, and inventory management.

Currently, Deacon is holding the position of Regional Lead General Manager at Vision Hospitality Group, Inc., where they oversee and coordinates daily operations across the entire property. Deacon monitors property projects and activities, ensuring tasks are within the allotted budget and analyzing P&L entries for discrepancies and inaccuracies.

Throughout their career, Deacon has demonstrated strong leadership, financial management, and operational skills.

Deacon Cottrell, MBA, earned an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Western Wyoming Community College in 2001. From 2001 to 2003, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Hotel/Motel Administration/Management at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Later, in 2014, they completed their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from Argosy University, Denver.
