Director Of Strategy And Growth at Vista College Prep

Sam Shapiro has a diverse work experience, starting in 2011 as the President of Books and Basketball, a mentoring program in St. Louis. In 2012, Sam worked as a Digital Organizing Intern for Obama for America, contributing to the digital organizing team. Later in 2013, Sam joined Teach For America as a Corps Member, where they underwent intensive training and taught at a start-up public charter school for two years. In the same year, Sam also became a part of Vista College Prep, serving in various roles such as Founding First Grade Teacher, Manager of Special Projects, and Director of Strategy and Growth. Finally, in 2020, Sam worked as a Fellow for the Flinn Foundation, participating in the Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Fellowship program to gain knowledge and skills for state leadership positions.

Sam Shapiro completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Washington University in St. Louis, which they attended from 2009 to 2013. Following that, they pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education at Arizona State University, where they studied from 2013 to 2015.
