Role Overview:

The Child and Family Specialist II - Wraparound provides direct services to children and families as identified in an individualized service plan and may function as a member of a Child and Family Team (CFT), utilizing a flexible, strengths-based approach in their work.

Essential Job Duties (other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for implementing the Wraparound staffing model related to the role and integration of the Child and Family Specialist (CFS) /Interventionist on the CFT
  • Intervention: 
    • actively participates and collaborates with the CFT
    • assists in the ongoing development and evaluation of the Wraparound Child and Family Plan of Care
    • responsible for developing a plan/CFS assignment request clearly identifying
      specific target behaviors, establishing goals identifying desirable outcomes, the interventions that will be used to address target behaviors and working toward an established goal/s
    • documents all services rendered according to DMH requirements and guidelines as well as the guidelines established by the agency
  • Engages with assigned youth and their families in accordance with individualized child and family plans and/or Client Care Coordination Plan, providing concrete direct services to assist the child and family with their tasks of daily living
  • Participates in Wraparound trainings and consultations
  • Provides advocacy and support to individual family members and the family as a whole
  • Assists in providing crisis management to families and children when plans disrupt and on-site consultation to others involved in plans
  • Participates in 24-hour on-call system
  • Promote family-centered practice strategies including family decision-making

What You Bring to VDM:

  • Master's degree with an emphasis on social work/psychology preferred.
  • BA/BS plus 3-5 years with high-risk youth population and experience working in Wraparound preferred
  • Requires skills engaging and working with parents as partners and working successfully with  families from diverse ethnic and cultural groups
  • Crisis management experience is helpful

Pay is commensurate with experience

Pay range: $22 - $23.50/hour

Location: Santa Monica, CA
