About the role:

Our Accounting team is growing in NYC! The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and other members of the accounting and finance departments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee a team of 5 to ensure timeliness and accuracy of monthly close and reporting processes for global company with 6+ entities in 22+ countries
  • Assist in preparation of the company’s financial statements
  • Work alongside FP&A to summarize the company’s financial results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Manage balance sheets and timely reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Oversee day to day  accounting (AR, AP, Expenses, etc.) and month-end close (Billings, Accruals, Balance Sheet reconciliations)
  • Work with FP&A to prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis of actuals vs budget
  • Oversee global and subsidiary reporting including consolidations, transfer pricing, intercompany accounting, statutory filings and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting processes and financial reporting processes
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Ensure compliance with  applicable government regulations for various reporting regions throughout the globe
  • Work with controller to establish and regulate global tax strategy and ensure we are adhering to all tax regulations
  • Implement and safeguard internal controls to ensure accuracy and complement of financial reporting
  • Coordinate annual audit, audit inquiries and financial statement preparation

What experience we're looking for:

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • Highly skilled in accounting and financial processes
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
  • Global experience required
  • Tax experience a plus
