Jesse Ruiz has extensive work experience in various leadership and legal roles. Jesse is currently serving as a Partner, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at The Vistria Group. Prior to this, they worked as the Deputy Governor for the Office of the Governor in Illinois from 2019 to 2021. Jesse was also the President of The Chicago Bar Association from 2019 to 2020. Jesse Ruiz has a background in law and was a Partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP from 1997 to 2019. Additionally, they held leadership positions at the Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools, Illinois State Board of Education, and various other organizations. Jesse Ruiz is a Fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago and has served as a Commissioner for the U.S Department of Education Equity and Excellence Commission.
Jesse Ruiz obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they attended from 1983 to 1988. Jesse then pursued further education at the University of Chicago Law School, where they earned their Juris Doctor degree in Law from 1992 to 1995. Prior to their college and law school education, Jesse Ruiz attended Marist High School from 1979 to 1983. Jesse'searly education began at St. Anthony, where they studied from 1970 to 1979.
