Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson is a highly experienced drilling manager currently working at Vital Energy since December 2023. Prior to this role, Michael served as a Senior Drilling Engineer and Drilling Project Manager at H&J Petroleum Management & Consulting from January 2015 to January 2024, where responsibilities included asset evaluation, optimization planning, and management of drilling procedures and vendor procurement. Additionally, Michael played a key role at Forge Energy II as a Drilling Project Manager and has experience as Vice President of Engineering, overseeing educational initiatives and strategic alliances. Earlier career experience includes working as a Project Drilling Engineer at Total Energy Services. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, earned between 2008 and 2013.
