Job description

SUMMARY
Design and test electrical components, equipment, and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile and analyze operational, test and research data to establish Acceptance Test Standard for newly
designed or modified equipment.
Prepare or direct preparation of product and system layout, schematics, and detail drawings.
Design electrical equipment using digital, analog and microprocessor based electronic components for
military and commercial environments.
Schematic creation, wire run lists, and familiarity with various electronic and electrical components
including mounting methods, heat sinking and location on printed circuit boards.
Coordinate and perform as necessary operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Coordinate with Manufacturing when building prototypes.
Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work
environment.
Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization
(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES
Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
Cooperate with Auditors.
Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from four-year college and a minimum of eight (8) to
ten (10) years’ experience in a related field or ten or more years of engineering experience in a related
field.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
IEEE Membership is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to work with electrical equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required.
