Medical Affairs Counselor at Vitalant

Heather Jones has a diverse work experience in the medical industry. Heather started their career at Vitalant (formerly LifeShare Community Blood Services) in 2000 as a Distribution Tech. Heather then transitioned to the role of Lab/Component Tech before becoming a Special Donations Coordinator in 2002. After working in this role for two years, Heather moved on to Vitalant in 2005, where they took on the position of Special Donations Coordinator once again. In this role, Heather was responsible for coordinating Autologous, Directed, and Therapeutic blood donations, as well as managing the medical release process for donors with deferred eligibility. Over the years, Heather took on various roles at Vitalant, including Administrative Assistant, Supervisor in Manufacturing, Document Control Specialist, and Resource Development Coordinator. Heather'smost recent positions were Donor Counselor and Medical Affairs Counselor.

Heather Jones completed their Associate of Arts degree from Lorain County Community College between 2012 and 2016. Heather then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from Youngstown State University from 2012 to 2024. In terms of additional certifications, Heather obtained the "COVID-19 Contact Tracing" certification from Coursera in January 2023, and they also completed certifications in "Biomedical Research" and "GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Biologics (ICH Focus)" from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in May 2021.
