Enrique Ríos Espinosa

Enrique Ríos Espinosa has over 30 years of work experience in the fields of nutrition, health regulation, and education. Enrique started their career as a Researcher and Head of the Department of Nutrition Education at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Medicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubiran, where they planned and implemented national food and nutrition programs and conducted research on breastfeeding practices and child growth. Enrique also designed and published educational materials on health and nutrition.

After this role, Enrique worked as the Undersecretary of Health Regulation at Subsecretaría de Regulación y Fomento Sanitario, where they provided technical advice on health care reform and developed regulations for the food and pharmaceutical industry.

Enrique then moved on to become the Executive Director of Fomento de Nutrición y Salud, A.C., where they provided nutrition and health communication advice to various industries, government agencies, and social organizations. Enrique also developed research protocols, designed nutrition courses and workshops, and created scientific dossiers.

Enrique then joined the Kellogg Company as the Latinamerica Nutrition and Regulatory Affairs Director. In this role, they designed and executed the company's Latinamerican Nutrition Strategy, developed nutrition brand claims and scientific studies, and ensured regulatory compliance. Enrique also influenced the regulatory environment through active participation in trade associations and governmental relationships.

Currently, Enrique serves as the Director of Mexico at Vitamin Angels, where they are responsible for leading operations in the country.

Enrique Ríos Espinosa completed their primary education in Medicine from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Enrique attended the university from 1973 to 1979 and received the degree of Medico Cirujano. Enrique then pursued further education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they completed a Master's degree in Public Health with a specialization in Nutricion poblacional from 1983 to 1985. Enrique Ríos Espinosa continued their academic journey at the same university and completed a Doctorate in Public Health with a specialization in Nutricion Poblacional from 1985 to 1991.
