Jim McGlone

President & Chief Executive Officer at Vitara Biomedical

Jim McGlone has worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. Jim began their career in 1986 as a District Manager and then Vice President, Government & National Accounts for Siemens Healthcare. From 2000 to 2003, they were President & Chief Executive Officer of Galil Medical, a BTG International group company, where they oversaw the expansion into Europe and Asia and the merger with Amersham (now GE Healthcare). Jim then became President & Chief Executive Officer of Oncura from 2003 to 2008, where they were instrumental in creating the company and its strategy and structure. In 2008, they took on the role of President at ChemImage Corporation and led the reorganization of the company, resulting in significant revenue growth. From 2014 to 2016, they were Chief Executive Officer of Lightsphere Diagnostics, a subsidiary of ChemImage, where they led business development efforts with major healthcare companies. Since 2016, they have been President of Auregen BioTherapeutics, a biotechnology company focused on 3D bio-printing of tissue engineered products funded by Gurnet Point Capital. Most recently, in 2019, they became President & Chief Executive Officer of Vitara Biomedical, where they are responsible for leading the company to commercial success, building an exceptional team, and delivering on the mission and vision promised to stakeholders.

Jim McGlone has a diverse educational background. Jim attended St Josephs Preparatory High School and earned a High School diploma. Jim then went on to Yale University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering & Applied Science in 1983. After that, they attended Penn State University and earned a Master of Science in Bioengineering in 1985. In 2000, they earned an Executive Master of Business Administration from NYU Stern School of Business in Management. Currently, they are enrolled in MIT Sloan School of Management, studying Artificial Intelligence in Health Care.
