Daniel Edlow has been in the software engineering field since 2010. Daniel started their career at Cipher Systems LLC as a Web Application Developer, then moved up to Software Architect, and eventually Director of Engineering. In 2019, they joined The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a Senior Staff Software Engineer. Later that same year, they joined VitusVet as Senior Director of Engineering. In their roles at VitusVet, they led 3 teams of developers in all aspects of engineering, significantly improved code quality, cut volume of product defects and tech support issues in half, and increased the speed and reliability of delivery by applying industry best practices and development processes. Daniel also introduced a CI/CD process, git-flow branching and merging, code review, coding standards, automated database deployments, and static code analysis tools.
Daniel Edlow obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2010, followed by a Master of Science (M.S.) in Information Systems from the same university in 2015. In 2016, they obtained certifications from Microsoft in MCSA: Web Applications, MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional, and MS: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3. Finally, in 2018, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services.
