Alek Babich

Alek Babich is currently working as a Development Lead / Principal Software Engineer at VividCloud, where they provide software development services for clients' digital transformation projects. Alek specializes in cloud computing, IoT, and data engineering technologies, including rearchitecting and migrating legacy software to the cloud.

Before joining VividCloud, Alek worked at Bottomline Technologies for over 10 years, starting as an Associate Application Developer and progressing to roles such as Senior Software Developer and Technical Implementation Delivery Manager. In these positions, they displayed expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and development principles and possessed proficiency in Java, Python, and C++ programming languages. Alek also demonstrated leadership skills by coaching and mentoring junior engineers.

Prior to Bottomline Technologies, Alek worked at IDEXX Laboratories as a Supply Chain Analyst, automating manual report generation processes and transforming inventory data into useful information. Alek also had a role at Yale Cordage as a Twisting Operator, operating machinery, tracking inventory, and debugging ERP/Access Databases with VBA code.

Earlier in their career, Alek was a Statistical Process Control Point Person at Nestle Waters, managing SQL databases for multiple factories, performing data analysis using Statistical Process Control (SPC), and creating reports with Crystal reports and Microsoft Excel.

Alek Babich has a bachelor's degree in Information Technology / Software Engineering from the University of Phoenix, which they obtained from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1997, they attended Saint Joseph's College, where they studied Biology/Pre-Med, although they did not obtain a degree from this institution. Additionally, in May 2022, they obtained the certification of AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
