Sayak M.

Sayak M. has a diverse work experience in the field of life sciences. Starting from 2014, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Indiana University Health, where they studied the protective effect of autophagy in retinal pigmented epithelium. In 2017, they joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on investigating the role of Beta Secretase in Retinal Homeostasis and differentiating induced pluripotent stem cells into retinal cells.

In 2018, Sayak took on multiple roles simultaneously. Sayak worked as a Global Scholar (Part-time) at PreScouter, Inc., conducting literature reviews on drug candidates for acquisition. Sayak also worked as a Freelance Editor at Editage, editing research papers for clients worldwide. Additionally, they joined GE Healthcare as a Field Application Scientist, where they trained customers on various imaging platforms and developed image analysis pipelines.

In 2020, Sayak joined Cytiva as a Field Application Scientist, supporting and demonstrating High Content and Super-resolution Imaging systems. The following year, in 2021, they became an Advanced Workflow Specialist at Leica Microsystems.

Most recently, starting in 2021, Sayak is working for Vizgen as a Field Applications Scientist, and they have progressed to the role of Senior Field Applications Scientist. The specific responsibilities and achievements in these positions are not provided.

Sayak M. has an extensive education history. Sayak obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Cell Biology and Anatomy from the University of Florida, where they studied from 2007 to 2013. Outside of their formal education, Sayak M. has obtained additional certifications. Sayak has completed the Sales Pipeline Management certification from LinkedIn in January 2021. Additionally, they have received training on using CRISPR-Cas9 for knockout, knock-in, and gene activation from Florida Continuing Education, although the specific dates of this certification are not provided.
