In terms of community involvement, Lauren was a Mentor for the Female Engineering Community at Virginia Tech from August 2011 to May 2013, providing tutoring and support to college freshmen women pursuing engineering degrees. Lauren also represented the Virginia Tech Society of Women Engineers (SWE) in the Council for the Advancement of Minority Engineering Organization (CAMEO) from August 2011 to May 2012, where they advocated for diversity in engineering.
