Cathal Copas

Cathal Copas has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Cathal started their career as a Software Engineer at Comau in 1988 and then moved to Digital Equipment Corporation as a Software Engineer from 1989 to 1992. Cathal then joined Unisys in 1992 as a Senior Software Developer and later relocated to Toronto, Canada with the team in 1994. In 1995, Cathal joined MapInfo as a Senior Software Developer and worked there until 1999. In 1999, they founded mBiztech Corp, a company focused on building and selling secure enterprise quality applications for BlackBerry devices and other mobile platforms. In 2006, mBiztech merged with Wallace Wireless, where Cathal served as the Founder & CTO until 2011. Cathal then moved to Vocera Canada Inc, where they currently hold the position of Director Engineering.

Cathal Copas completed their Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Galway, spanning from 1982 to 1986. Following this, they pursued a Masters of Engineering Science, specializing in the field of study, from the same university, graduating in 1988.
