Debendranath Sarangi

Mr. Debendranath Sarangi has been on the board of Voltas Limited as an Independent Director since 2013. He is a retired IAS officer (1977 batch) from the Tamil Nadu Cadre.

While in service, he has held high-level responsibilities in several departments including that of Chief Secretary.

He was the Chairman of Tamil Nadu Transport Development Finance Corporation Limited, Chairman of Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited, on the board of various Government undertakings and also a nominee Director of some companies, including Titan. Mr. Sarangi holds M.A. in Political Science from University of Delhi and M.Sc. in Economics from University of Swansea, U.K.

He was recently elected as the vice-president of the Asia Squash Federation with two-third majority at the 37th ASF Annual General Meeting. Mr. Sarangi, who is the President of the Squash Rackets Federation of India, is only the second Indian to become the vice-president of the ASF.
