Phillip Cloud

Phillip Cloud has a diverse range of work experience in software engineering and data analysis. Phillip is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Voltron Data since July 2021. Prior to this role, they served as an Open Source Advisor at Saturn Cloud from September 2019. From September 2019 to July 2021, Phillip worked as a Staff Software Engineer at Standard Cognition. Before that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Two Sigma from January 2017 to September 2019.

Phillip also has experience in data engineering, as they worked at Facebook as a Data Engineer from January 2016 to January 2017. Their responsibilities included creating core data sets for the Trending News product, enhancing search infrastructure, and designing schemas in collaboration with multiple teams.

Before joining Facebook, Phillip worked as a Software Engineer at Continuum Analytics, Inc. from August 2014 to December 2015. Phillip contributed to various projects and was a core maintainer in blaze, odo, and datashape.

Prior to their industry experience, Phillip worked as a Research Associate at Neuromatters LLC from October 2013 to August 2014, where they integrated biophysical sensors, ported a psychology experiment platform, and implemented a MySQL database for organizing participant data.

Phillip's early experience includes working as a Graduate Student at The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY) from August 2010 to December 2013, where they performed data analysis on neurophysiological data sets. Phillip also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Laboratory of Josh Wallman from June 2009 to June 2010, analyzing eye-movement data and creating a bridge from C to MATLAB for data analysis.

Phillip Cloud completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology at The City College of New York from 2004 to 2010. Phillip then pursued further studies and attained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Psychology at the City University of New York City College, studying from 2010 to 2013.
