Jay Cairns

Jay Cairns has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jay is currently working as a Sales Director at Voltus, Inc. since November 2021. Prior to this, they have ventured into renewable energy development as a Renewable Energy Developer at Sky Energy Africa from May 2016 to April 2017. Jay also has extensive experience in the Antarctic continent, having worked as a Consultant for the U.S. Antarctic Program from July 2020 to January 2021. During this role, they focused on developing implementation plans for off-grid power and communication infrastructure. Earlier in their career, Jay worked as a Lead Field Project Engineer at Raytheon Polar Services/GHG Corporation from 2001 to 2015 and as a Lead Field Technician at Polar Field Services, Inc. from 2011 to 2013. Jay also has previous experience in generator and small engine repair, automotive technician certification, and electrical utility maintenance and construction. From 1996 to 2010, Jay worked in various companies gaining experience in these different fields.

Jay Cairns received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. Jay later pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Business Administration and Management as well as Energy & Sustainability at Imperial College Business School from 2018 to 2020. Additionally, Jay Cairns obtained several certifications in Project Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology, including Best Practices for Project Management Success, International Project Management, and Project Management Lifecycle.
