Matthew McMurtry

Matthew McMurtry has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Matthew currently holds the role of Director of Analytics and Commercial ESG at Voltyx, where they are responsible for driving strategic, commercial, operational, and organizational improvements using analytics. Additionally, they tackle complex business challenges and helps develop and measure the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals and performance of the company.

Prior to joining Voltyx, Matthew worked at Electric Power Systems from 2019 to 2022. During their time there, they served as a Manager for National Business Development and Analytics. Matthew also held the role of Program Manager/Business Development Manager and developed program management tools while identifying and capturing federal government opportunities.

From 2018 to 2019, Matthew worked at CBRE as an Energy Manager, where they were involved in managing energy-related projects and initiatives.

Between 2010 and 2018, Matthew had a significant tenure at CSRA Inc as a Senior Sustainability and Renewable Energy Engineer/Program Manager. Matthew was responsible for sustainability consulting, including developing sustainability strategies and plans, calculating GHG inventories, and implementing emissions reduction strategies. Matthew was also involved in business development activities, including identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and delivering sales presentations.

Matthew's career began in 1999 at BBN Technologies, where they served as a Program Manager and Materials Engineer until 2006.

Matthew McMurtry has a diverse education history. Matthew obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech, where they studied from 1994 to 1999. Later, they pursued further education and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan in 2006, which they completed in 2009.

In the same period, Matthew also attended the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business, where they pursued an MBA degree in General Management. This program also lasted from 2006 to 2009.
