Allison Traxler

VP & Chief Communications Officer at Volunteers of America, Greater Baton Rouge, Inc.

Allison Traxler has over 27 years of experience in the field of Development and Fundraising. She began serving as Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge’s Director of Development Major Gifts in 2007 and currently serves as the Vice-President and Chief Development Officer. She is responsible for managing donor relations, marketing, public relations, the Board of Directors Development Committee, and volunteer services throughout our 19 parish service area.

Allison holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and has been in the fundraising arena since 1996. Allison has spearheaded all of our Celebration for Change events and has training in the Benevon Fundraising Model. Before her employment with Volunteers of America, she joined the organization’s Board of Directors in 2003. She also worked in development at Ochsner Health System, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School, and the Red Cross. She has served as president of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Allison is both a past Board member and a past sustainer of the Junior League of Baton Rouge. She is a graduate of Leadership Baton Rouge and Volunteers of America’s Executive Development Program (EDP).

She volunteers with her church, children's schools, and Elan Cotillion. She is married to Dr. Jon G. Traxler and keeps busy as a mom to two college students, a 7th-grade son, and three dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, LSU sports, her pets, and her son's sporting events.
