Adrián Crestar Santomé

Adrián Crestar Santomé has had a diverse range of work experiences. Adrián started their career at the University of Vigo, where they worked as a research collaborator and software engineer in the Applied Geotechnologies Group. During their time there, they contributed to the development of a Microsoft Windows application using the C++ programming language.

Following their work at the University, Santomé joined Proyestegal S.L., a company affiliated with the Applied Geotechnologies Group. Adrián continued their software development work, focusing on creating a Google Maps plugin that displayed satellite maps linked to recorded routes.

Santomé then joined InSITU S.L., where they worked as a software development engineer. Adrián worked on developing tools to export route information in XML and PDF formats.

Next, they worked at CERN - European Organization for Nuclear Research as a Software and Systems Engineer in the Beams Department. In this role, they were responsible for the life-cycle of CERN's safety and access control systems, as well as industrial control systems for experiments.

Afterwards, they joined ERNI as a Senior Software Engineer. Here, they worked on firmware development for 3D printing systems and Python scripting for automatic performance validations. Adrián also served as the product owner of the 3D printer software simulator.

Most recently, Santomé has been working at Voovio as a Senior Software Engineer. As of November 2021, they continue to contribute their skills and expertise to this company.

Adrián Crestar Santomé obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Universidade de Vigo, completing this program in 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution, which they accomplished between 2008 and 2012. Their education journey began with a degree in Computer Systems Technical Engineering from Universidade de Vigo, which they completed from 2004 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Adrián has also obtained various certifications. Adrián recently completed certifications such as "Developing Secure Software," "Programming Foundations: Secure Coding," "Project Management: Technical Projects," "Secure Coding in C," "Tech Career Skills: Effective Technical Communication," "Tech Career Skills: Interviewing Developers," "Tech Career Skills: Moving from Developer to Engineering Manager," "Transitioning from Technical Professional to Manager," "Unconscious Bias," and "Understanding the Impact of Deepfake Videos" from LinkedIn in November 2021. Adrián also obtained a certification in "Design Thinking: Understanding the Process" from LinkedIn in October 2021. Additionally, they achieved the "Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I)" certification from Scrum.org in March 2021.
