James Baril has over 20 years of public affairs and political experience. James is currently a Senior Vice President & Partner at VOX Global, where they lead a team in helping global companies and philanthropies tell their stories and advocate for the issues important to them. Prior to their current role, James worked as a Senior Account Executive at Fleishman-Hillard, managing accounts primarily in the technology, healthcare, energy, and nonprofit sectors. James also served as the Deputy Regional Director for the South Region of Texas for U.S. Senator John Cornyn, where they developed strategic alliances and represented the Senator at various events. Before that, James worked as a Campaign Manager and Field Representative for various political campaigns.

James Baril pursued their education in a chronological order. James began their educational journey in 1998 at Texas A&M University, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Speech Communication in 2002. In 2014, they obtained a Certificate in Leadership from SMU Cox School of Business. Most recently, from 2021 to 2022, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to pursue an Executive MSc in Behavioural Science.

In addition to their formal education, James has also obtained several certifications. In 2001, they received a Certificate in Mediation from Texas A&M University. In 2016, they became a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) through the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals. In 2022, they completed the Certified in Omni Foundations program offered by Annalect. James further expanded their credentials by acquiring a certification on "How to Research and Write Using Generative AI Tools" from LinkedIn in 2023.
