Bob Allegretto

Project Leader at VRC Metal Systems

Bob Allegretto's work experience spans over several decades and includes a variety of roles in different industries. Bob began their career as a Mechanical Designer at GCA Corporation, focusing on illumination systems and optical components for semiconductor production equipment. Bob then transitioned to a role as QA Manager/Production Supervisor at Specialty Aluminum, where they managed quality control and supervised maintenance in an aluminum casting facility.

In 2000, Allegretto joined Jonathan Aerospace Materials Corporation as a Mechanical Designer/Project Manager. Here, they served as the lead designer for the development of high-strength watertight doors for US Navy ships. Bob also managed a $1 million budget and completed multiple Small Business Innovative Research projects.

In 2006, Allegretto worked as a Senior Mechanical Designer at MKS Instruments, where they performed precision gauge component design and development. Bob also devised testing methods, tools, design fixtures, and fabrication for components.

From 2003 to 2014, Allegretto held the position of Program Manager/Division Manager at Federal Technology Group. Here, they managed division operations and served as the Program Manager of the Materials Development Team. Bob led a team of 10 to 25 employees in product design and manufacturing and prepared proposals for technical design contracts with the Department of Defense and NASA.

Allegretto then worked as a Quality Control Manager at Mills Machine Works Inc for 15 months before moving on to pursue other opportunities.

In 2014, Allegretto founded LattiCast LLC, where they were the owner. While transitioning to other full-time employment, they developed materials, provided prototype to production support, and assisted clients with fabrication processes for product creation. Bob also handled budgeting, proposal writing, technical information, specifications, and shop procedures.

Most recently, Allegretto joined VRC Metal Systems in 2016 as a Project Leader. In this role, they focused on cold spray technology, specifically in the repair of critical military and commercial components. Bob worked directly with the Army Research Lab and other military operations to advance the technology of additive manufacturing.

Throughout their career, Allegretto has demonstrated expertise in mechanical design, project management, quality control, and materials development.

Bob Allegretto attended Fitchburg State University from 1977 to 1981, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts.
