The role:

We have an exciting opportunity in the Wed team for a 3D Web Developer  to join us. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who wants to join our adventure, to be part of a company that is disrupting the market with an innovative product. 

We're looking for an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our web team.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Work within the Web Team to architect, build, and maintain the platform.

  • Add new features to match designs following best practices, prioritising maintainability and performance.

  • Continually learn and share knowledge to improve code quality.

  • Identify issues affecting team output/performance and facilitate their resolution.

  • Identify, define, and deploy tactics, tools, and solutions to achieve business objectives.

  • Collaborate with the team in all planning sessions, ensuring members are briefed on changes to agreed plans/strategies.

  • Support product/project management cycles by helping the product team prioritise requirements.

  • Manage interfaces with the Modelling, Data, Engine, QA, and Support Teams.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience with WebGL / WebGPU or web-based 3D frameworks such as three.js.

  • Experience with mapping solutions such as DeckGL or Mapbox.

  • Familiarity with 3D model formats (e.g., glTF, OBJ, STL)

  • Experience in building web applications with JavaScript / TypeScript and ReactJS.

  • Solid knowledge of GraphQL and NodeJS.

  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web applications

  • Experience of using, managing and maintaining version control solutions.

  • An excellent understanding of:

    • Integrations with external systems.
    • Data structures.
    • Software architecture, design patterns and algorithms.
    • Agile principles.
  • Keen interest in applying code best practices and delivering readable code

  • An affinity for prioritising complex product requirements and reducing them to manageable tasks.

  • Be an excellent problem solver and effective communicator, with a positive can-do attitude.

  • Self motivated with a passion for continual professional development.

  • Personal, adaptable and flexible with the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced changing environment

  • Demonstrates both strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently

  • Must be available to attend quarterly company meetings held in the office in person and attend the office on assigned office days each week in line with our hybrid working policy.

  • Be human and ready to have fun.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in creating a seamless integration between web components and a 3D rendering engine.

  • Experience with graphics pipelines, preferably 3D mesh-based visualisation and associated computational mathematics.

  • Experience of CAD and/or GIS.
