Shekhar Mitra

Scientific Advisor at Vyome Therapeutics

Dr. Shekhar Mitra is Senior Advisor for innovation strategy and business development, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Vyome. Shekhar is Founder and President of InnoPreneur LLC and Consulting Partner, Yourencore, engaged in driving innovation strategies, ideation, and building innovation capabilities for CEO and President teams of several Fortune 100 corporations. Shekhar started his career at Procter & Gamble in 1984, moving up the leadership ranks to become the first Asian to become Senior Vice President of Global R&D. He was a member of P&G’s top executive team, the Global Leadership Council, before retiring last year.

In his global leadership role at P&G, Shekhar pioneered strategic partnerships in several countries and with leading institutions. He was on-ground in China starting up P&G’s well-recognized global technical center in Beijing, and executing P&G's strategic partnership with the Government of India’s Council of Scientific & Industrial Research.

His contributions include leading the creation and development of game-changing technology platforms and innovation strategies that have resulted in well-known consumer products like Crest Whitestrips and ProHealth, Aleve Analgesic, Prilosec, Olay Regenerist, Olay Definity Skin Care and Hugo Boss Fragrances, to name a few. These innovations have created and grown major P&G brands and their equities with the help of noticeable benefits provided to global consumers fulfilling their unmet needs in a superior way. Shekhar is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and obtained his PhD in life sciences from Columbia University, after which he was Jane Colvin Medical Research Fellow at Yale University. Shekhar has been awarded over 50 global patents. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor by the US Congress and listed in Congressional Records for his contributions to improving consumer’s lives through game changing Innovation, leadership and community service.
