Nicolas Nassar

Nicolas Nassar has a diverse work experience in the field of software and control engineering, primarily in the autonomous vehicle industry. Nicolas is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Waabi since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Nuro as a Controls Engineer from January 2021 to December 2022. Before Nuro, they were a Software Engineer - Controls at Ike, which was later acquired by Nuro, from August 2019 to January 2021. Nicolas also gained experience at Cyngn as a Software Engineer - Autonomous Vehicle Control from January 2018 to August 2019. Nicolas started their career in the automotive industry at Lucid Motors as a Control Engineer - Drivetrain, where they developed simulation models and control algorithms for electric drivetrain systems from November 2015 to January 2018. Additionally, Nicolas had internship experiences at Cimenterie National, SAL in 2013 and Nesma & Partners in 2013, where they gained exposure to different departments and supervised work processes respectively.

Nicolas Nassar earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Beirut, which they attended from 2010 to 2014. Nicolas then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley from 2014 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in "Robotics: Computational Motion Planning" from Coursera in January 2018.
