Wessel van Vliet

Wessel van Vliet is a dedicated environmental professional with experience in bird and otter monitoring. Currently serving as a Beleidsmedewerker Weidevogelbescherming at Vogelbescherming Nederland since April 2022, Wessel has also held a role as a Vogelteller at Sovon Vogelonderzoek Nederland since December 2019, participating in various bird count initiatives. Additional volunteer experience includes monitoring otters at Meinerswijk and the Rijnstrangen for ARK Natuurontwikkeling, as well as serving as a Wadgids for Waddenvereniging. Previous roles involve animal care at the Nederlands Instituut voor Ecologie and internship experiences at Gemeente Rotterdam and Rijnstate. Wessel holds a Master of Science degree in Forest and Nature Conservation from Wageningen University & Research and has attended institutions such as SLU and Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences.
