Henry Cheng

Transcriptomic Scientist at Walden Biosciences

Henry Cheng has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field since 2007. Their career began with two COOP terms at the Public Health Agency of Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory. In 2009, they worked as a COOP student at the University of Manitoba and Merck, where they led independent projects and acquired a competitive student scholarship. In 2010, they began a Research Ph.D. at the University of Toronto, where they initiated and led independent projects and collaborated on several external projects, resulting in 10 scientific publications (3 primary) in high profile peer-reviewed journals. In 2017, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University Health Network. Henry then held two Postdoctoral Fellow positions at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital from 2018 to 2022. Currently, they are a Transcriptomic Scientist at Walden Biosciences.

Henry Cheng obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from the University of Manitoba between 2004 and 2010. Henry then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Cardiovascular Science from the University of Toronto from 2010 to 2017.
