Michel Kempeneers

Michel Kempeneers has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Michel is currently serving as the General Director - COO International Affairs at Wallonia Export & Investment Agency since January 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Administrator at Liege Airport starting from June 2020. Michel also served as a General Assembly Member at European Trade Promotion Organisations' Association (ETPOA) from June 2019.

Before joining Liege Airport and ETPOA, Michel worked at Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX) for a significant duration, starting in April 2015 as Inspector General - COO Overseas Export-Investment and concluding in December 2020. Preceding this role, they were the Director Asia-Pacific at Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) from March 2008 to April 2015. Furthermore, Michel served as the Responsible for the Liège Regional Center at AWEX from 1999 to 2008.

Michel Kempeneers attended HEC Liège from 1986 to 1990. Later, in 1991, they pursued a Master's degree in International Politics at ULB.
