David Thiel

David Thiel, J.D., is a seasoned legal and project management professional with extensive experience in the construction industry. Currently serving as Senior Project Counsel at The Walsh Group since January 2019, David focuses on training staff to minimize claims and managing potential claims. Concurrently, David has held the position of Safety & Risk Manager at AGL Constructors since March 2013, overseeing the safety program and risk management for the $1.2 billion I-35E Managed Lanes TxDOT project. David’s previous roles include Project Manager for contract, claims, and risk management at Walsh Construction, as well as various leadership positions in quality control and safety management across prominent construction firms, including Archer Western Contractors and Hensel Phelps. David holds a J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from New Mexico State University.
