Senior Sustainability Analyst at WAP Sustainability

Kai Wang is currently a Senior Sustainability Analyst at WAP Sustainability. Prior to this, they worked as a Sustainability Intern at Arizona Center for Nature Conservation from June 2017 to May 2018. There, they collected data with regard to energy consumption, water usage, waste disposal and so forth; established sustainability baselines; identified areas for improvement and developing projects for enhancement; and coordinated joint projects with external partners.

Before that, Kai worked as an Energy Efficiency Program Manager at SDCL-Asia from July 2012 to June 2015. In that role, they identified opportunities for improvement in energy efficiency; developed retrofit projects based on the opportunity identification, and provided financing options to fund the projects; identified and developed potential technical suppliers; evaluated technical/economic feasibility of potential investment projects; helped clients develop energy efficiency initiatives in their supply chains (clients include IKEA and Tesco); collaborated in the development of a pilot project for Global Foundries in their Singapore facility; enabled clients in the hospitality industry to achieve 20% of energy savings by upgrading and/or optimizing HVAC systems; and managed the technical risks by working with the technical suppliers/contractors.

Kai Wang has a Master of Sustainability Solutions from Arizona State University and a Bachelor in Business Administration from Shanghai International Studies University. Kai also has certification from Coursera in Linear Regression and Modeling, Inferential Statistics, and Introduction to Probability and Data.

Kai Wang reports to Matt Van Duinen, Sustainability Director. They work with Manasa Rao - Sustainability Manager, Arka Pandit - Sustainability Manager, and Nicholas Hammond - Sustainability Analyst.
