Alexis Blakes

Alexis Blakes is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in technology, education, and community service. Currently serving as an Alumni Ambassador for the Warrior-Scholar Project since October 2020, Alexis promotes programs to the veteran community and builds partnerships with student veterans organizations. As IT Support Engineering - Data Center Lead at Amazon Web Services since January 2018, responsibilities include hardware and network repair, installation, documentation creation, and service recovery. Engagement in educational equity is reflected through roles such as Equity Design Team Member and Contributions to Washington MESA at Columbia Basin College, alongside participation in AmeriCorps for student support services. Alexis has also contributed to NASA's community outreach efforts as a Public Affairs Officer and held leadership roles within Columbia Basin College's student government. With a solid education in computer science and cloud support, Alexis is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with Digital and Computational Studies at Bowdoin College.
