Monica Chao Janeiro

Monica Chao Janeiro is an accomplished sustainability expert with extensive experience across various sectors. Currently, Monica serves as the Founder and Managing Partner of ACATIVA and as an ESG Senior Advisor for Eurofund Group. Monica is also the Founder and President of Women Action Sustainability (WAS), advocating for female representation in sustainability leadership. Previously, Monica held prominent positions including Country Sustainability Manager at IKEA, Corporate Global Director of Sustainability at NH Hotel Group, and Global Head of Environmental Sustainability at MAPFRE. With a strong academic background, including multiple master's degrees and ongoing executive education at Esade, Monica has successfully driven significant reductions in energy consumption, water usage, carbon footprint, and waste generation throughout Monica's career.
