Charles R. Martin

Charles R. (Chip) Martin, Ph.D., is an accomplished Executive Consultant at Longenecker & Associates since May 2019, with extensive involvement in the American Nuclear Society as a member of the Executive Committee of the Nuclear Installation Safety Division and past chair of both the NISD and the DC Section. Martin has extensive experience in nuclear safety and policy, having served as a Glenn T. Seaborg Science and Engineering Policy Fellow for the US House of Representatives and Chief Nuclear Officer at National Security Technologies, overseeing nuclear operations and safety. An adjunct associate professor of nuclear engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, from 2015 to 2018, Martin has held positions at the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board and the United States Air Force, where Charles R. (Chip) retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. With advanced degrees in nuclear engineering and leadership training, Martin is recognized for significant contributions to the field of nuclear safety and engineering.
