Rachel Schilke

Rachel Schilke is a Congressional Reporter and Breaking News Reporter at the Washington Examiner, with prior experience as a Press Intern at the United States Senate. Rachel has an extensive background in journalism, having served as a Senior Print Editor, Summer Editor, News Editor, and News Reporter at The Daily Iowan, where responsibilities included overseeing print operations and managing news coverage. Additional journalistic experience includes writing for The Borgen Project on global health and politics and serving as a Social Media Intern for the Iowa Youth Writing Project. Rachel also has experience in the hospitality industry, having worked as a hostess at Vue Rooftop and Beggars Pizza. Rachel holds a degree in Journalism and International Relations from the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
