Aaron Gibson

Aaron Gibson, CPA has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Aaron started their career at ExxonMobil, where they held various positions such as Senior Auditor, Controllers' Project Lead, Financial Analyst, Transaction Analyst, and Senior Accounting Analyst. After working at ExxonMobil for four years, Aaron joined Washington Gas, where they held several roles, including Senior Specialist - Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting, Supervisor - Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting, Manager - Regulatory Accounting, and Director - Regulatory and Utility Revenue Accounting. Aaron then progressed to become the Director of Finance Transformation & Systems and finally the Senior Director of Finance Transformation, System and Controls at Washington Gas. In these positions, Aaron was responsible for overseeing departmental functions, managing staff, coordinating system upgrades and implementations, and serving as a point of contact on various finance and regulatory matters.

Aaron Gibson, CPA holds a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of North Dakota, which they completed in 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA in Accounting and Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 1999. In addition to their educational background, Aaron Gibson has obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the VBOA - Virginia Board of Accountancy in June 2022. Furthermore, they have received the Elijah Watt Sells Award, a prestigious accolade granted by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (obtained in 2023).
