Lavanya P. has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Starting in 2005, they worked at Everybody Wins! DC as a Volunteer and Program Coordinator, Congressional Liaison, and Marketing Associate. In this role, they supervised four elementary schools and managed the budget, communications, recruitment, and training for the Power Lunch Program.

In 2019, Lavanya worked as a Brand and Strategy Consultant for Small Certified Business Enterprises, where they focused on brand development and strategy.

In the same year, they became the Principal Owner of Ellesipea LLC, a consultation business specializing in operational management. Lavanya utilized their experience to manage various aspects of operations, such as facilities, finance, technology, marketing, and human resources.

Finally, in 2022, Lavanya joined the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) as a Principal Strategic Program Manager.

Lavanya P. obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Cum Laude, from Benedict College in 2003. In terms of additional certifications, Lavanya acquired several, including Law Enforcement Training Instructor, General from Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and Certified Train-the-Trainer from CIT International, both planned to be obtained in 2023. Lavanya also holds other certifications such as Crisis Intervention Training Coordinator Certification from CIT International in 2023, Suicide Prevention Training from Gateway Training and Consultancy in 2023, and a variety of certifications obtained in previous years including First Aid, CPR/AED from Red Cross in 2017 and Preparing for Mass Casualty Incidents: Guide for Schools, Higher Education, and Houses of Worship from FEMA (Emergency Management Institute) in 2016.
