Engineer at Wasted* PBC

Benson Colella has a diverse work experience in various industries. Benson started their career as a Line Cook at Commonwealth BBQ from 2015 to 2018. Benson then worked as a Student Teacher at Worcester Technical High School, teaching chemistry to high school students. From 2019 to 2020, they interned at Rich Earth Institute, where they contributed to the design and testing of a freeze concentrator and built an Arduino-based tank level alarm. In 2020, they worked as a Mover at Piece By Piece Moving and Storage, LLC. In 2021, they joined Moderna as an Engineer I, focusing on lipid nanoparticle process development. Benson manufactured mRNA-formulated LNP batches and authored batch summary reports. In 2022, they worked as a Farmhand at The Bunker Farm and as a Wwoofer at Barking Dog Farm. Benson also worked as a Cabinet Installer and Construction Laborer at J.C. Builders from 2022 to 2023. Most recently, they joined Wasted* PBC in 2023 as a Multidisciplinary Engineer.

Benson Colella completed their education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Benson earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with high distinction from 2016 to 2020. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the same institute from 2019 to 2023.

In addition to their academic achievements, Benson also obtained certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Benson obtained an Initial License for teaching Chemistry to students aged 8-12 in June 2020. Furthermore, they earned an Open Water Diver certification from PADI in August 2015.
