Alexia Knappmann

Alexia Knappmann currently serves as the Germany Representative for WaterAid since June 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Policy and Advocacy Adviser and Advocacy Coordinator at Amnesty International Germany from May 2014 to June 2022. Alexia also worked with the United Nations Association of Germany as a Web Editor for the Human Rights Dossier from July 2013 to September 2017, and was one of 15 fellows from Europe and North America with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in 2014-2015. Additional positions include serving as a Consultant for Human Rights Watch, Human Rights Officer for the MENA region at Amnesty International Germany, Conference Coordinator at the Deutsches Institut für Menschenrechte, and various internships including one at the Deutscher Bundestag. Alexia holds a Magistra Artium in Political Science, Ethnology, and Sociology from Universität Trier and participated in an ERASMUS program at the University of Tampere.
