Anand Gautam has a diverse work experience in the field of water and sanitation. They have worked as a Water Operator Partnership (WoP) - Municipal Coordinator at WaterAid since November 2021. Prior to that, they were a Director at the Federation of Drinking Water and Sanitation Users Nepal (FEDWASUN) from September 2021 to February 2022 and also from September 2021 to November 2021. They served as a WASH Project Coordinator (Partner Advisor) at Welthungerhilfe from May 2019 to September 2021. Additionally, Anand Gautam worked as a Program Officer at Co-Action For Community Development Nepal from January 2014 to September 2021. They were a District Coordinator at Oxfam from March 2021 to June 2021. Prior to that, they served as a WASH Manager at the Centre for Integrated Urban Development from 2017 to May 2019 and as a Project Coordinator at the Center for Integrated Urban Development from March 2011 to December 2014.

Anand Gautam completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics from Patan Multiple Campus, under TU, at Shree Durga Bhawan Higher Secondary School. Anand then pursued an M.Sc in Integrated Water Resources Management (iWRM) from Nepal Engineering College from 2008 to 2011.
