Ondrej Kucera

Assistant Lecturer at Waterford Institute of Technology

Ondrej Kucera is an experienced academic and researcher with a strong background in electrical and biomedical engineering. Currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer at the Waterford Institute of Technology since September 2022, Ondrej has previously worked as a Researcher at CEA, where protein-based active materials were developed, and cytoskeletal self-organisation was studied. Prior roles include Associate Scientist at BIOCEV, contributing to the discovery of a novel mechanism of non-motor actin contractility, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, where multiphysics models of cytoskeletal polymers were designed. Ondrej has also held visiting researcher positions at various prestigious institutions and completed a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, alongside a Master's and Bachelor's degree in related fields.
