Joshua P. Cole

Joshua P. Cole, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience starting in 2000 with Detroit Public Schools as a Teacher. Joshua P. then moved on to Chesterfield County Public Schools where they held positions as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, and later became a Principal. In 2015, they transitioned to become an Educational Equity Consultant, focusing on creating equity in education. In 2019, they joined Virginia Commonwealth University as the Executive Director of Strategic Engagement. Most recently, they have taken on the role of Director of Equity and Inclusion at Waterford.org starting in 2022.

Joshua P. Cole, Ph.D. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Virginia Commonwealth University from 2003-2009. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Wayne State University in 2001-2003. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Elementary Education and Teaching from Central Michigan University, completed from 1995-2000. In addition to their degrees, Joshua also holds certifications in "Strategies to Promote a Culturally Diverse PK-12 Teaching Workforce" and "Antiracist Educator Level 1" from Virginia Commonwealth University, obtained in 2022 and 2021 respectively.
