Cynthia-Anne Martin has extensive experience in law enforcement, social work, and community initiatives, currently serving as a Police Officer with the Waterloo Regional Police Service since April 2002, where responsibilities include a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion. Previously, Martin contributed to Indigenous initiatives and reconciliation with the Region of Waterloo, facilitating community engagement for Indigenous-led clinic design and advocating for Truth and Reconciliation initiatives. Other roles include supporting community well-being efforts through Wellbeing Waterloo Region, serving on the Provincial Liaison Team for conflict resolution with the Ontario Provincial Police, and providing youth casework at Family and Children's Services. Educational qualifications include a Master's of Social Work with a concentration in Indigenous studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as multiple advanced certificates in police leadership and conflict resolution.
