Aukje Schep

Aukje Schep currently serves as a spokesperson and strategic advisor for Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht, a position held since January 2024, focusing on communication with the press and media regarding flood protection and water supply. From August 2016 to December 2023, Aukje worked as a senior spokesperson for the municipality of Zaanstad, managing media relations and communication policies for multiple portfolios, including youth, care, and integration. Prior experience includes a role as a communication advisor and spokesperson at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from August 2007 to July 2016, where responsibilities included issue management and crisis communication. Aukje also served as Vice Praeses for the Studentenvereniging L.A.N.X. from October 2005 to October 2006, overseeing operations and public relations. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Journalism and a Bachelor's degree in Dutch language and culture from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, along with communication training from Nyenrode Business University and SRM.
