Courtney C. began their career in 2017 as a Tutor at Gutsy Tutoring. In 2021, they joined Watobe, where they have held the roles of Intern, Operations Manager, Product Manager and Head of Product. As Head of Product, they grew the Learning Team from 6 to 12 people and experimented with differentiating the grade 12 classes, leading to a 10% increase in Gr12 learners finding the pace of the lesson "just right" compared to learners in other grades. As Product Manager, they shipped the ability to join online zoom classes and complete quizzes via the website, resulting in a 500% increase in paying customers and average 60 day retention rate of 63%. As Operations Manager, they took ownership of automations within the company and designed and built the end to end customer lifecycle to accommodate the company pivot to live classes. As Intern, they upskilled herself in the various tech platforms used, from no prior knowledge to building automations independently within 1 month.

Courtney C. completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town from 2016 to 2020. Courtney attended Durban Girls' College from 2010 to 2015. In 2021, they obtained a Forward Program certification from McKinsey & Company and a Growth Marketing Programme certification from Startup Core Strengths.
