Brendan Cone

Brendan Cone is the current Head of Engineering at Wattpad. Brendan has also served as the Director of Engineering at CrowdRiff from May 2019 to March 2020. Prior to that, they were with Flipp from June 2010 to May 2019.

Cone's work revolves around leading engineering teams to success and building and scaling the team and its processes. Brendan has also worked on re-architecting the performance management, compensation and hiring processes, building career ladders, hiring exceptional and passionate new team members, building people management skillsets and practices within the team, organizational structure and design, and iterating on team processes and standards. Some of their other work has related to helping define and flush out a technical strategy with the team's principal engineer, and to broadly communicate and advocate on the team's behalf.

Brendan Cone completed a Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. Their field of study was computer science.

Brendan Cone reports to Allen Lau, CEO & co-Founder. They are on a team with Natasha Lakhani - Head of People, Tina McIntyre - Interim Head of Publishing, and Mark Hadfield - COO. and David Choi - Associate Engineering Director reports to Brendan Cone.
