Sophia Abdi

Sophia Abdi is currently a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Wattpad. Prior to that, they were an HR Coordinator at Daggerwing Group from June 2019 to November 2020. In that role, they were responsible for managing HR administration and providing day-to-day HR support to all employees within Daggerwing Group, North America. Her responsibilities included talent acquisition, performance management, benefits administration and employee relations.

Before their time at Daggerwing Group, Sophia was a Recruitment Consultant at WilsonHCG from May 2018 to May 2019. In that role, they led full cycle, high volume recruitment efforts for major clients, such as Uber and Evonik in major cities across the US. Her portfolio of roles included but was not limited to roles in sales/business development, engineering, manufacturing and corporate services.

Prior to WilsonHCG, Sophia was a Talent Acquisition Team Lead at Knewsales Group from January 2016 to April 2018.

Sophia Abdi completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy at the University of Toronto. Sophia then completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management at Humber College.

Their manager is Monica Pacheco, Senior Talent Manager. They are on a team with Jas Rai - Talent Acquisition Specialist, Hannah Wood - Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Jasmeet Thandi - Talent Acquisition Specialist.
