Server Engineer at Wave

Kevin Fredericks has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Kevin worked as a Server Engineer at Wave from 2023 onwards. Prior to that, they served as a Software Engineer and later as a Web Developer at The Change Companies starting from 2020. In this role, they led the development of an online assessment tool using React and Node.

From 2016 to 2020, Kevin worked at Patagonia as a Merchandise Processor where they developed an embedded device and display network using ARM architecture, Java, and Debian Linux. This project significantly reduced costs and introduced innovative applications for existing systems.

Kevin also worked at the University of Nevada, Reno as an Instructor from 2017 to 2020, where they developed curriculum and taught subjects like Data Structures, Design Patterns, Algorithms, JavaScript, Lua, and C++. Kevin made modifications to the Minetest codebase to improve performance.

As the Information Technology Administrator at Integrated Behavioral Healthcare from 2016 to 2020, Kevin developed configurations for Electronic Medical Records, automated Excel templates, and maintained network infrastructure.

Additionally, Kevin worked as a Curriculum Designer at NCLab in 2017 and contributed to the growth of their user base through a content overhaul. Kevin also created JavaScript tools for content creation and assisted in developing an emergency recovery tool.

In 2016, Kevin served as an Instructor at Truckee Meadows Community College, where they taught coding workshops and provided guidance to 9-12-year-old students.

Lastly, Kevin was the Director of the Reno Video Game Symphony from 2011 to 2015. In this role, they arranged and performed music, coordinated with promoters and creative partnerships, and managed the organization's operations and growth strategy.

Kevin Fredericks obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Western Governors University between 2019 and 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology with a focus on Social Organization and Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno between 2006 and 2012. Additionally, they obtained an Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate certification from Oracle in April 2020.
