George Monokroussos

George Monokroussos is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in demand forecasting, economic analysis, and research. Currently serving as the Head of Demand Forecasting Science and Principal Economist at Wayfair since 2019, Monokroussos previously held roles as Senior Economist and Economist II at Amazon from 2015 to 2019. Earlier experience includes serving as Scientific Officer at the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (2013-2015) and as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer at the University at Albany from 2005 to 2013. Monokroussos also contributed to research as a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in 2010-2011 and worked as a Consultant for The World Bank's Development Economics Research Group from 1998 to 2000. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Economics from UC San Diego, an M.Sc. from The London School of Economics, and dual Bachelor of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
